Tasty Juices of “Kawola”
In June of the current year a juice producing workshop “Kawola” began functioning in Kawola village of Khalifa Hasan sub-district of Panjikent city.
The resident of “Kawola” Tursun Valiev addressed the Consultation and Information Center, “Dewashti” organized by UNDP in Panjikent, and luckily, won the tender announced by the Center within the project on “the initiative of the population of Zarafshon” with the proposal of “Kawola” workshop. The workshop received a grant that is 15 dollars, 50 per cent of which is to be reimbursed to the Center within the next three years.
Having received the sum the head of the workshop began his work: refurbished an old building to make it into an office, and brought equipment from the People’s Republic China for the production of canned food to set the production lines.
Row materials – fruits and vegetables was bought by the workshop from the agricultural units of the surrounding areas. Presently, “Kawola” has in offer for the clients apricot juice, cherry juice, and fruits. Recently, it set up the production of tomato juice. During the winter season, when the production of energy is at its lowest ebb, it envisages production of organic water. Based on general calculations, currently, the workshop produces 7 tons of various products. At present, 8 employees are working in the workshop, but according the manager it is planned to increase the number of employees up to 18 – 20 workers.
- The conditions of our work are good enough, - says one of the workers of the workshop, Itobat Tagoeva, - I have worked for many years in the juice factory of Panjikent and have a rich experience. “Kawola” workshop despite its fresh beginning has good working conditions and we receive our salaries on time. Most importantly, our products sell well.
- I wish to extend my gratitude to the employees of UNDP for their support, because I would not have been able to do anything, says the head of the workshop.
Recently, the administration of Panjikent city brought good news: An area was allocated for the construction shop “Kawola”. In prospects, further expansion of the production is envisaged..
- We wish our product meet the market demand, and become available in the shops in all cities and districts of our country, - they say in “Kawola”.
