Tajikistan’s year-end GDP growth rate expected to stand at 6.4% in 2011

DUSHANBE, August 25, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Specialists from the CIS Committee for Statistics expect the highest year-end gross domestic product (GDP) growth rates this year in Uzbekistan, Belarus and Tajikistan.
In Uzbekistan, GDP is expected to rise 8.2 percent in a year to December 31, 2011, in Belarus 8.0 percent and in Tajikistan 6.4 percent. They are followed by Kazakhstan – 6 percent, Kyrgyzstan – 5.5 percent, Armenia – 5.0 percent and Russia and Ukraine – 4.6 percent each.
Experts from the CIS Committee for Statistic expect Tajikistan’s GDP to rise 6.2 percent next year. The CIS GDP is expected to rise on average 4.5 percent in 2012.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan expects Tajikistan’s GDP to rise 6.5 percent in a year to December 31, 2011, reaching 30.2 billion somoni.
