Tajikistan opens its pavilion at ITB Berlin 2010

DUSHANBE, March 10, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan is attending an international tourism exhibition, ITB Berlin 2010.
According to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism, fifteen tourist companies are representing Tajikistan at this exhibition that is held in Berlin, Germany on March 10-14 2010. Among them are tour operators Ganjina, Kafolat, Tajikaviatour, Tojikintourservice, Turisiti Edem, Orien Adventour, Zartouch, etc. Tajik private air carrier, Somon Air, is also attending the exhibition, the source said.
Tajikistan has opened its pavilion on an area of 40 square meters to provide information about the country’s tourism programs and activities under the motto of “Tajikistan is the Country of Tourism.”
Tajikistan participated at ITB Berlin, the world’s largest travel and tourism fair, for the first time in 2008.
ITB Berlin is a prime meeting place, a marketplace, and a driving force behind the tourist industry. The exhibition area and various segments, along with the comprehensive congress program and supporting events represent the entire product spectrum of the tourist industry. At the same time, they form the basis for the development of new ideas, global approaches and targeted marketing.
With 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries and regions, ITB represents the full spectrum of global tourism at all levels of the value added chain like tour operators, booking systems, travel destinations, airlines, hotels and rental cars. The exhibition has been held since 1986.
According to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, 140 companies are now engaged in tourism activity in Tajikistan.
