DUSHAHNBE, January 31, 2012, Asia-Plus – The SUGHD Free Economic Zone (FEZ) located in the Tajik northern province of Sughd and the LEILEK FEZ have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Khosiyat Komilova, a spokeswoman for the SUGHD FEZ, says the document was inked Anvar Yoqubov, the head of the SUGHD FEZ administration, and Babyrrayim Masaliyev, the head of the LEILEK FEZ administration, on January 30.

According to her, the purpose of the memorandum is the mutual organizational and informational support when searching for potential investors and partners for implementation and funding of innovative projects in production in the two FEZs.  The agreement also provides for the intensification of contacts between entrepreneurs, she noted.

The deal urges the parties to establish a joint database of products, along with proposals for joint investment projects in the next three years.

Under the terms of the document, the sides will co-participate in exhibitions and conferences and jointly produce print and electronic publications and manuals.

The document will also promote introduction of modern innovative technologies to support development of various productions, Komilova said.

To-date, more than 15 foreign companies and enterprises have signed cooperation documents with the SUGHD FEZ, she added.
