Russian military base helps Tajik schools for children with disabilities

DUSHANBE, August 5, 2011, Asia-Plus – Russian military based deployed in Tajikistan has provided humanitarian aid to the Republican Special School for Children with Cerebral Palsy and the Republican Special School for Blind and Partially Sighted Children in Hisor district.
Captain Dmitry Matushkin, an assistant to the commander of the Russian military base in Tajikistan, the base representatives congratulated the schools’ staff and pupils on the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and handed over more than hundred of toys and entertainment and developmental games to orphaned children and children with disabilities.
“The pupils welcomed the guests with flowers and bread and salt and performed a small concert to them,” Matushkin said.
Ms. Nargis Muqimova, Principal of the Republican Special School for Blind and Partially Sighted Children, expressed gratitude to the base for support provided to children with disabilities.
The Russian military base in Tajikistan has reportedly patronized local special schools for children with disabilities for more than ten years.
