President shakes up law enforcement and defense officials

DUSHANBE, June 23, 2011, Asia-Plus  -- President Emomali Rahmon yesterday met with 140 newly appointed officials from the law enforcement, judicial and power-wielding structures.

By president’s decrees a number of staff changes were introduced to the law enforcement and power-wielding structures.

Suhrob Mahmadov was appointed Deputy Defense Minister for armament and materiel, and Bobojon Saidov was appointed Deputy Defense Minister for supplies and logistics.

Abdughaffor Azizov was appointed authorized representative to the Bureau for Coordinating
Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Types of Crimes within the CIS area, and Asror Odinayev was appointed to head Tajik Migration Service’s representative office in the Russian Federation.

Millopar Bandishoyev and Rajabali Shirinov were appointed deputy directors of the Agency for the State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.

Besides, 124 persons, including 29 women, were appointed judges and heads of judicial bodies.  Staff changes were also introduced to police departments and prosecutor’s office.
