Exhibition of old lamps organized in Sughd

KHUJAND, November 10, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The Sughd regional museum has organized an exhibition of old lamps.
The exhibition entitled “Chil Charogh” (Forty Lamp) opened on November 9. The museum curator, Ms. Kimiyo Atoyeva, says forty oil and kerosene lamps as well as gas-filled tubes put on display at the exhibition have been handed over to the museum by local residents.
According to her, some exhibits were dated even to the Lithic Age.
The exhibition has been organized under support of the Hivos Foundation, the Netherlands, the museum curator added.
