Baku appoints new ambassador to Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, February 13, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Abbasali Hasanov has been appointed new Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Tajikistan, replacing Mageram Aliyev.
According to the Azerbaijan Trend News Agency, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an appropriate decree on appointing Abbasali Hasanov Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan on February 10.
Abbasali Hasanov is a career diplomat with extensive experience in Iran. From 1999 to 2009, Abbasali Hasanov served as Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iran and Azerbaijan’s representative to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). From 2009 up to the new appointment he served as Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
